Notes From a Bright Field

by Rose Cook

A collection of poetry with a deceptive simplicity and a crafted ease in economy of words, which takes you behind everyday observations and interactions. One poem might take you a minute to read but an hour to ponder.

Sometimes I look down and there is my mother standing in my shoes,
which are comfortable and worn. Her feet are so tired.
She has walked a long way and I wonder,
how do I love this woman who is no longer here?
