Getting Over Edgar

by Joan Barfoot

I really enjoyed this book and found it very funny. These are ordinary but real people and the author really makes you care about what happens to them. Optimistic and uplifting, but very down-to-earth.

Edgar's appearance, however pathetic, is a tribute both to the considerable skill of Austin Webster, the funeral director she picked from the phone book, and to Gwen's own insistence, no matter how many pieces Edgar was in. As it turns out, he's in three main pieces, with the odd bit still missing. Fortunately the parts that are visible were salvageable, and the rest is camouflaged by clothes and some strategic padding.
