The Unknown Errors of our Lives

by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

These short stories tell of Indian women of all ages, some torn between East and West, but all facing difficult choices. Overall, the tone is one of sadness, but with dashes of humour and upbeat endings. Beautifully written and poignant.

I looked into his face, its perplexity, and felt that perhaps he was right. That perhaps happiness, which I had given up on, was an uncharted possibility, a brave geography worth the long effort of exploration.
