The Purple Hibiscus

by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichide

A beautiful, but not always comfortable, story which deals with relationships in a powerful way. I was captivated by the vivid portrayal of Nigerian life, the beauty of the land's description and the language of the people. I couldn't put this book down!

I totally agree with this review. At times it is a challenging read, but a beautifully written and a fascinating insight into another world.
