i love this book- the heroine, whose name we never find out- the hero, and Mrs Danvers- wouldn't like to meet her on a dark night!
Always get pleasure from re-reading this one.

thought it might be a bit too hisorical/romance for me, but read it & loved it, then read several more of the authors books.

I too have read this book many times and never fail to be mesmerised by it. Yes Mrs Danvers is very scary and the contrast between the two Mrs De Winters is intriguing. The eerie atmosphere throughout the book is palpable.

I've read this book many times over the years and each time I find a new enjoyment from it. What a story! I also have an image in my head of the first Mrs De Winter which has never altered - it all adds to the mystery in the story.
