Fingersmith

by Sarah Waters

This tale is narrated by two orphan girls whose lives are inextricably linked. The plot consists of an elaborate scheme of deception and greed.
Sarah Waters has rightly been described as a modern day Dickens. She creates memorable and very believable characters and vividly depicts Victorian life.
The book is densely plotted and fast paced with so many twists and turns that it is a rollercoster of a ride.
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable read!

I could almost hear the floorboards creak and the skirts rustle. An evocative book that appears to read true. Dark, sexy and thrilling. What more could you want?
