Shades of Grey

by Jasper FForde

Welcome to an alternate universe where colour rules and being grey leaves you at the bottom of the working classes.
You follow Eddie growing up in Fforde's wonderful new world where swans are highly dangerous, forks are worth risking your life for and marriages are arranged using the table of primary colours.
This read leaves you using your imagination to the full and you finish the book with a smile on your face and a hundred 'what ifs?' in your head.

I have been an avid fan of this author since I discovered "The Eyre Affair". This is takes the reader to a slightly darker world than his previous books, but they each showcase Fforde's great imagination, wit, warmth, sense of character and emotional depth....pretty amazing and wonderful, really!
