The Blade Itself

by Joe Abercrombie

I'm just past the middle because I can't put this down. The characters are great, they really draw you in and share their thoughts with you. I love Inquisitor Glokta, he reminds me of a Pratchett character a bit grim but funny. Logen Ninefingers, infamous barbarian will be a real hero, but without the good looks and Jezal dan Luthar a vain selfish idiot, with the good looks. Throw in Bayaz, first of the Magi, and anything can and does happen! I haven't read anything else by Joe Abercrombie but he has my full attention now. My sister sent me this as she thought I'd enjoy it and she was can I persuade her to send Book 2 and Book3?

Just finished the first book. Loved it!! Must read the second now! It has now become my second favourite book.
I'm not very far into, just under 200 pages in, but already I'm loving it! Glokta is so twisted and disturbed, and yet you have to feel sympathetic for him! And Logan seems like a really sweet barbarian. Can't wait to finish it!
