So he takes the dog

by Jonathan Buckley

A very pretentious and boring book written by a self indulgent author who probably only reads the Guardian and lives in Islington. Our crime book club read it and ALL hated it, and only finished it because it was the chosen book. The author writes pages of showy descriptions, often quite unrelated to the action and apparently to show off his clever clogs prose, which seem to have been written in a creative writing class and then clumsily injected into the book. Awful, bin it immediately without opening a page!

Yes, this book was totally awful!
Yes, I agree. I remember trying this book and giving up after only a few pages.
