Fees to change your Co-ordinatorThe role of the Co-ordinatorThe Co-ordinator is essential in managing your rollout and maintaining quality. The Co-ordinator remains the key point of contact with Opening the Book; we communicate any course changes through them and they can contact us at any time. A library service must have a trained Co-ordinator in place in order to make use of their Frontline subscription. A library service can share out other administrative tasks associated with Frontline but only one person can be the named Co-ordinator and have access to the online control panel through which to manage all the Trainees and Supervisors taking the course. Planning in case you need to change Co-ordinatorIt is inevitable that some Co-ordinators will move on, change jobs, go on maternity or sickness leave, so it makes sense to plan to cover these eventualities. Preparing a handover properly will save money as the charges for changing a Co-ordinator depend entirely on the amount of work Opening the Book needs to do. A smooth handover process also ensures the least disruption to Trainees and Supervisors using the course in your authority. The Co-ordinator must fill in the Experience Bank on the website. This is an online notebook in which Co-ordinators can record advice specific to their rollout that can be read by all Supervisors. Changeovers of Co-ordinator are much easier where this resource has been fully used. Each Co-ordinator should prepare a deputy as early in their rollout of the course as is possible. What does it cost to change Co-ordinator?To change Co-ordinator during the life of the contract, a replacement must be nominated. Opening the Book will then take steps to ensure that the new Co-ordinator has the experience to maintain high quality learning for your staff. The process to induct a new Co-ordinator varies, depending on their experience, and the fee is scaled to the amount of support the new person will need. Experienced Co-ordinator takes over the role: FreeIf the new Co-ordinator has been a Co-ordinator in another library service, the process involves a simple changeover and attracts no fee. Normal day-to-day support supplied as part of the contract can be used to consult on any difficulties the Co-ordinator encounters. Experienced Supervisor is inducted to the role of Co-ordinator: Fee £300If the new Co-ordinator:
Then Opening the Book will:
This takes about two weeks from when Opening the Book is contacted and causes no disruption to Trainees and Supervisors using the course. Successful Trainee is inducted to the role of Co-ordinator: Fee £600If the new Co-ordinator:
Opening the Book will:
The first report will be delivered within two weeks of Opening the Book being contacted. Other Trainees and Supervisors can continue to move through modules and new Trainees can be enrolled and activated but no certificates can be issued until Opening the Book approves the new Co-ordinator's supervision of the sample Trainee’s work when that Trainee has completed the whole course. The speed of that process is set by the new Co-ordinator (Opening the Book will respond within 2 weeks once notified that the Trainee has completed the course). On a fast track it is likely to take 3 months. The only disruption is that some Trainees may wait longer for their certificates to be issued by the new Co-ordinator. New Trainee is given Co-ordinator role: Fee £1200This is an identical process to the original Co-ordinator training and costs exactly the same. |
