Trainees plan, manage and evaluate a small-scale promotion targeted to an audience of their choice.
Browsers into BorrowersEffective in refurbished or self-issue libraries and anywhere where staff need to work directly with books and readers instead of behind the counter. The course develops staff skills and routines to merchandise and market books in all parts of the library - children, teenagers, adult non-fiction, large print. It develops confidence in engaging with readers and making the most of the opportunities offered by moving to RFID. Effective Outreach ProjectsThe course offers library staff working in any role an opportunity to undertake a time-limited, small-scale piece of outreach work which is supported, evaluated and involves their colleagues. The aim is to test out practical projects with value in themselves and also to develop a platform for future investment in outreach and partnership projects. |
