Ordering

When placing an order, you agree that any and all information given is accurate and complete.

Goods are purchased in accordance with any written purchase order of the buyer, sent by email, fax or post, which is accepted by Opening the Book Furniture Ltd.

All goods are supplied according to Opening the Book Furniture Standard Terms and Conditions, which shall govern to the exclusion of any other terms and agreements.

All prices listed on www.openingthebook.com and in our catalogues are correct at the time of entering the information and replace any earlier advertised prices. Opening the Book Furniture Ltd reserves the right to revise prices at any time.

Ownership of goods

Risk of damage to or loss of goods pass to the customer at the time of delivery. Opening the Book Furniture Ltd retains the right for all goods until they are paid for in full, at which time ownership (title) of the goods will pass to the customer.

Damaged goods and claims

If goods are delivered damaged Opening the Book Furniture Ltd must be notified in writing within 5 days of receipt of the goods, otherwise claims cannot be considered. If any damage is noticed at the time of the delivery, documentation must be signed accordingly and delivery refused. Please email sales@openingthebook.com to report damage.

Prices

All prices are exclusive of VAT. This will be added to all UK and EC orders where applicable at the current rate. All prices are net. Opening the Book Furniture Ltd reserves the right to revise prices at any time.

Payment

Payment is required within 30 days from the invoice date. Opening the Book Furniture Ltd reserve the right to charge interest on any overdue invoices.

Remittance

Payment may be made by cheque made payable to Opening the Book Furniture Ltd or by bank transfer. Bank details are provided with your invoice.

Delivery

Standard delivery is 4-6 weeks. Delivery dates quoted are approximate and Opening the Book Furniture Ltd cannot be held liable for any delay in delivery of goods.

We do not charge for delivery within mainland UK – all of our prices include this. For overseas and urgent orders please contact us for prices.

Returns

Items damaged in transit may be returned without charge provided the damage is reported within 5 working days of receipt of goods. If any items are shipped incorrectly or wrongly ordered email sales@openingthebook.com within 10 working days to arrange return.

  • All goods must be returned in pristine condition in the original packaging. We reserve the right to withhold full credit if any goods are received back without their original packaging or in a condition unfit for re-sale.
  • A collection charge will be applied for non–faulty goods.

Warranty Policy

Goods are covered by a five-year warranty for defects in materials and workmanship. The invoice is your certificate of warranty and the invoice number must be included when submitting a warranty claim. We will repair or replace any product, part or component which fails under normal use.

Notice of changes

Opening the Book Furniture Ltd reserves the right to modify without prior notice the terms & conditions as well as the availability, design, specifications and price of the merchandise of Opening the Book Furniture Ltd and also disclaims all liability for typographical or other errors.

Liability

We do not accept liability for any errors and/or omissions contained in our website and catalogues and reserve the right to change information, prices, specifications and descriptions of listed goods, products and services at any time and without notice.

If an error is discovered in the price of the goods that you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible. We shall be under no obligation to fulfil an order for a product that was advertised at an incorrect price.

We have taken every measure to provide accurate product images for each product for sale on the site and in our catalogues. However, we cannot be held responsible or liable for any differences in colour between the image and the actual product.

We shall have no liability to you for any delay in the delivery of products ordered or any other matters to the extent that the delay is due to any event outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, flood, fire, labour disputes, strikes, lock-outs, riots, civil commotion, malicious damage, explosion, governmental actions and any other similar events.
