We advocate a retail-style approach where the shelving is durable and attractive and a feeling of change is generated by stock displays using good merchandising and graphic signage.
Face-forward display units
Our Table Units, Book Pods and innovative children’s furniture are the best in the business for making stock visible and touchable.
On-shelf acrylics

On-shelf acrylics used with Large Print
All our library designs include units from our range of invisible but revolutionary on-shelf acrylics which is transforming the look of libraries across the UK. We work with staff to decide on the best mix of different product units to display the stock in different areas of the library. Units are customised for graphic novels, board books, large format non-fiction, dvds, magazines, large print etc. Each is designed to make a specific product look attractive on the shelf.
Shelving which showcases stock

Using face-forward titles to brand an area of stock, Swansea Central Library
Opening the Book shelving always makes the books look good. All shelves are tilted upwards and outwards so the books are presented to the customer’s eyeline in the most attractive way. Shelves can be adjusted for different product sizes so the units always showcase the stock to the best effect possible.
Detailed stock layout
In every library we design, we work with staff to produce a detailed stock layout. We consider ratios, adjacencies, customer needs and the specific combinations of shelving in differently-sized spaces. No other supplier offers this level of detailed work.
Stock planning spreadsheet
We give all our clients a stock spreadsheet with details of every bay in the layout. Each bay is specified as to what stock it holds, what the capacity is (this varies with product size and form of display) and what the anticipated issue rate is. Staff can use the spreadsheet to monitor performance and to plan future stock changes.
Staff training
We include a staff training session on display and merchandising skills to get the most out of the library’s new equipment.

Futureproofing
Our shelving and signage system is extremely flexible. Stock can be easily moved as demand increases or reduces. Focus displays can be targeted to different customer groups in different areas or at different times of day. The whole stock layout can be altered to give a different feel without changing the shelving layout at all.
